But for every other subclass or those that don't main hard-hitting Primaries, this Fragment isn't worth using. And since Shadebinders are tuned around freezing enemies constantly, gaining a 43% damage buff against frozen targets is nothing to scoff at. Shadebinder Warlocks will get the most use out of this Fragment, as it gives that subclass a reliable means of shattering Stasis crystals. This Fragment will cause frozen targets to take significantly more damage from Primaries, a major improvement but nothing game-changing. If you play PvP, this Fragment also helps mitigate the massive 50% damage reduction Primaries have against frozen targets. Related: Destiny 2: The Best Hunter Builds For PvP And PvE Unfortunately, that's only for Primary weapons, a weapon class that you aren't using to fight those enemies normally. Whisper of Rending also stacks with damage buffs like High-Energy Fire, leading to some absurd damage spikes against majors and bosses that are frozen. For comparison, High-Energy Fire only provides a 20% damage buff-15% in PvP. Whisper of Rending provides a 43% damage increase to enemies affected by Stasis and a 100% damage buff against Stasis crystals. It's the main reason why this otherwise excellent Fragment is rated so poorly on this list. Special Kinetic weapons don't see a damage boost at all. This Fragment is somewhat deceptive, as it only works with Primary weapons. Whisper of Rending: Kinetic weapons do increased damage to Stasis crystals and frozen targets. You can combine the two to have constant melee uptime, but why not use Heavy Handed or similar melee-regenerating armor mods then? There are so many options for getting melee energy as a Stasis user that Whisper of Fractures fails to impress. Every class can spawn Stasis shards with ease through one Aspect slot, allowing you to spam your melee without nearly as much risk. With that said, one mechanic makes this Fragment obsolete: Stasis shards. Whisper of Fractures works in PvP.ĭestiny 2 has been pushing more add-dense encounters since Beyond Light launched, so this Fragment activates more often than you might expect in PvE. It seems to cap out at 10% melee energy per second while five enemies are near you. If more enemies surround you, this effect becomes stronger. This Fragment recharges your melee ability by 2.5% per second while two enemies are near you. Whisper of Fractures sounds fantastic on paper, but it fails to provide any meaningful melee energy returns in practice. Whisper of Fractures: Your melee energy recharges faster while you are near two or more combatants. If you want 100% uptime for your class ability, Whisper of Refraction is a good pick, but just how many builds rely on their class ability to function? Not many. Unlike Refraction, that mod works with Mask of Bakris and Icefall Mantle, reducing this Fragment's value even more. Using your class ability will refund up to 30% class ability energy. Utility Kickstart, a Stasis class item mod, effectively does the same thing. Whisper of Refraction also saw an indirect nerf in Season of the Lost. Unfortunately, Icefall Mantle and Mask of Bakris disable this Fragment while your class ability cannot regenerate, significantly reducing the effectiveness of Whisper of Refraction for certain builds where you'd want to spam your class ability. Dodges, Barricades, and Rifts with the Frostpulse Aspect are incredibly strong when utilized properly. This Fragment can prove to be a solid choice for Crucible players. Some Stasis builds that revolve around class abilities can benefit from this Fragment, yet its effects pale in comparison to your other options. This Fragment has no internal cooldown and gives even more energy if the target is a major, proving up to 50% energy if you kill a slowed boss. Whisper of Refraction : Defeating slowed or frozen targets grants you class ability energy.Īny slowed or frozen targets you defeat while this Fragment is equipped will recharge around 10% of your class ability.
